We had a Mario-themed Halloween this year. Choka did a great job making the costumes. She made Zayaa’s entire costume, and everything but the hats on Danny and Ariunaa’s costumes. I contributed my collectors edition Mario hat and I also made Ariunaa’s Toadette hat.

Shooo…! The site is back online now, after being taken out when the hard drive on the server failed. I was pretty bummed because it looked like the latest backup I had was from 2008, but I just found one from 2010 and it looks like everything is good now.
I also did a WordPress upgrade, so the backend is all spiffy and shiny too. Let me know if you have any problems with the site.

Well, it’s not often that we make something that Danny will ask for seconds on. Tonight, though, I made some Samosas. They were pretty darn good (if I do say so myself) and Danny actually ate more of them than Zayaa. Someday that won’t be news (I hope), but for the moment it’s a pretty exceptional occurrence.
I went ahead and wrote out the recipe, because I’m tired of making up good recipes and forgetting them. I thought I’d share, so anyone else can make them if they’d like. This isn’t really Indan food. More like Indian-inspired food. You won’t see many genuine Indian food recipes that contain beef. Also, I used butter instead of ghee.

Here’s a little map that shows NYC as we see it in our daily lives. Click on the blue markers for a description of what they represent. You have to zoom in pretty far to see what some of them are pointing to. Double-click next to a marker to do a 2x zoom and center.
